2013 Inter-Department Debate Competition
On the 26th and 27th March 2013, English Language Unit (with the help of Islamic Studies Unit) of General Studies Department held an Inter-Department English Language Debate Competition and it was participated by PSMZA students from all four main departments.
Three teachers were invited to the competition as fellow adjudicators and they are:-
- Mr. Syed Mohd Al-Ami bin Tuan Sharif [Sek. Keb. Kuala Dungun]
- Mr. Mohd Nasir bin Muda [Sek. Me. Keb. Pulau Serai]
- Mr. Zaini bin Kussin [Sek. Me. Keb. Pulau Serai]
Mr. Zaini, acting as the chief adjudicator, was kind enough to brief the contestants and other adjudicators on the rules and regulations, debate format and adjudication in a briefing on 23rd March 2013.
Though most of the contestants were first time debaters, they showed high spirits during the competition and gave their best to win.

2013 Inter-Department Elocution Competition
On 27th February 2013, the English Language Unit (with the help of Islamic Studies Unit) held the 2013 Inter-Department Elocution Competition. It was participated by students from all main departments of PSMZA.
There were two rounds - prepared speech round &the impromptu round. Despite being nervous and most of them were first timers, the participants gave their best effort to win the competition.
Congratulations to all winners! The committee would also like to say thank you to fellow guest judges who were teachers from nearby schools. Thank you also to Tuan Haji Hassan bin Ismail, the Vice Director (Academic) of PSMZA, for making himself present during the prize giving ceremony and delivering all of the prizes and tokens of appreciation.
